I am very puzzled by something. The choice young girls make in the guys they fall in love with. I have watched several dramas now where the girl falls for the young immature guy instead of the mature, thoughtful man. In "Attic Cat", the girl falls for a young law student who always uses her and hurts her. Her boss cares for her and is mature and thoughtful and does not hurt her feelings. And he is trying to guide her in her career. Even after the law student realizes he loves the girl and tells her, he still hurts her and uses her and denies his feelings when asked by others. What is that about? Why would a guy do that?

I’ve just finished episode 12 of "Full House", which has 16 episodes. There is a nice man who cares about the main girl, but she loves the guy who is always hurting her and calling her names. Plus, he loves another girl and always runs to her side when she calls. Why would a girl allow anyone to treat her that way? And don’t even get me started on the type of person that second girl is! She doesn’t love that guy and didn’t want him until he was with the main girl. Then all of a sudden, she wants him. And knowing how he feels about her, she takes advantage of that. Every time she feels him pulling away toward the other girl, she uses their history together, plus tears to drag him back to her side. That is being very selfish, as far as I'm concerned.

As long as I live, I don’t think I will understand. I have always believed in being honest about my feelings and I don’t believe in playing mind games.

Yes, that could be. But I believe these shows are "teaching" kids that it is all right to behave this way. Not just these Asian dramas, but even the shows I see on American television. They are "teaching" the wrong values to the kids of today.
